Who was the inspiration for Daddy Issues?
There wasn’t one sole inspiration for “Daddy Issues”. Some of the strongest connections that I’ve had with the opposite sex come from women who didn’t have a stable father figure in their lives. The term “daddy issues” is thrown around in many different contexts. If a woman doesn’t want sex, then she has “daddy issues”. If a woman wants too much sex, then she has “daddy issues”. Technically, “Daddy Issues” isn’t a defined or recognized medical term. When a person doesn’t have a stable father figure in their lives, then it can cause unresolved issues in relationships.
Spirituality and Daddy Issues
“Daddy Issues” was based on several different dating experiences. Throughout the course of my dating history, I have shacked up with several spiritual women who were born around the same time and they all had daddy issues. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe, I attract a certain type of person into my life. All of my life, I have always been a father figure to many people. So, it is possible that these types of women can sense that about me and that is what drew them to me. Who knows? This is complete speculation.
The Best Sex
The best sex that I’ve had in my life is with people who are just as crazy as I am. Then it leads to heartbreak. Throughout my heartbreak, I wrote this song “Daddy Issues”. I’ve fallen in love with women who needed to self-heal and they took out a lot of their hurt on me.
My takeaway: I need to work on my own issues and deal with certain things. Hopefully, then, I will be able to attract someone who is more stable and someone with who I can grow.
Seek Professional Help
Seeking professional help is never a bad thing. There are so many issues that I’ve had in my life and seeking help really put things into perspective. Try to avoid dating someone with unresolved parental issues. It may seem appealing to be a person’s savior but you will only end up hurt. Remember, a person can’t love you if they don’t love themselves.
